It's AWESOME! - mpmc - 2025-01-25 Hi all, A Tangara finally arrived (to a very windy UK) and I'm honestly blown away (ha) by how much I like it. ![]() The sound output is awesome. Music I've listened to many times before using the same headphones (a cheap pair of Superlux HD681 which are a Samson SR850 ish clone) has never sounded so good. I'm hearing things within music I never noticed before. ![]() Unlike other players I've tried, trust me it has to be at least about 30+ by now, Tra is the first to not make me wince & pull my headphones off quickly due to a harsh sound, an unexpected volume fluctuation, or playback issue (think loud pops & glitches). Yes I have very sensitive ears and hearing; IEMs are a no go for me ![]() It's hard to describe, most other players sounded and felt like they sliced the music up & whatever DAC used often overcompensated, overproccessed or mangled parts of the output, sections were badly decoded or harsh/sharp sounding & voices separate from the music. Tangara doesn't have any of these issues to my ears. --- My only request is; would it be possible to have a font size option please? It's currently just a little too small for my eyes in parts. Oh and I have some OPUS music that won't play. I'm not sure I'm allowed to attach it here or not. I've created an issue on the repo for it: https://codeberg.org/cool-tech-zone/tangara-fw/issues/198 Quote:Oh and I have some OPUS music that won't play. I'm not sure I'm allowed to attach it here or not. Probably best to not attach it directly, but feel free to open an issue for it on codeberg with some more information about the tracks, and I'm happy to look into it. Any info you can get would be good: filepath, encoding, tags, whether it plays well with other players, etc. The output of `ffmpeg -i` is often a good starting point to figure out what might be different about these tracks. Thank you for your kind words about our gay little music player ![]() |
