Issue with DOA unit? - Cmaness20 - 2025-01-25

My unit was working fine and then when I went to do a firmware update has crashed and won’t do anything except a black screen. Could someone explain to me like I’m stupid how to put the main tangara program back on the device or is my device just bricked

If it sill shows up as a serial device when connected to a computer you could try some of the methods from here.

Hi! Sorry about this issue! It's very unlikely that you've bricked your device in any way that's unrecoverable; it's very much designed to be hard to permanently damage with a bad firmware update. You might just need to use one of the more advanced/manual flashing methods that ayumi linked.

If you could share what operating system your computer runs, we can write up some more detailed recovery instructions for you. In short however, the companion cli is most likely to be your best bet for recovering your device.
