Boot loop when SD inserted - villain - 2025-04-22

Hi! My Tangara has been working fine since initial roadbumps, but today I listened using it on my walk to work then put it on my desk and left it for 10mins and when I tried booting again it got caught in a boot loop flashing the logo/restarting the screen on and off over and over. If I remove the SD card it boots normally but obviously says the SD card couldn't be found. How should I troubleshoot this?

Update - Sometimes the Tangara booted enough to tell me it doesn't recognise the SD card (even when its inserted). I tried plugging in my SD card via reader and my Mac isn't showing it as a volume, but if I open Disk Utility it shows as empty - looks like it formatted itself? I've reformatted it and am re-adding all my music back on now, but any idea what went wrong here?

That seems like some data corruption on the SD card. Whether that's Tangara's fault or the SD card failing is hard to say.

Confused it's a brand new Samsung SD so I'm a little concerned... I'll keep an eye out for that happening again, and update here if it does. Reformatting and adding everything from scratch at least fixed the issue, but was time consuming Tongue

Perhaps the data corruption happened when you were initially copying music to the card. Hopefully it stays fine now.
