Updating title/album/artist tags in a giant library - timothy.reed - 2025-06-05
My library of Flac-format files for my Tangara player is pretty giant, mostly from bandcamp. I've discovered that artists aren't that careful when tagging their own music, so I need to update a lot of the basic tags to make my library manageable on my device. Other than going through with mp3tag and manually updating, are there any approaches that will save me a thousand hours of clicking and copy/pasting?
I know beets can use the bandcamp plugin but since the info isn't consistently usable on the source files I'm not sure that would make things better.
My files are well organized by Artist Name/Artist Name-Album Title/artist - album title - NN song title.flac.
