Spotify compatibility - Spoon9101 - 2024-06-05

Since the tangara is esp32-wrover based, I was wondering if it would be possible to integrate compatibility with Spotify connect using something like https://github.com/feelfreelinux/cspot or https://github.com/sle118/squeezelite-esp32

It would be really useful to make the tangara become a portable spotify player - possibly via spotify connect over mobile hotspot! In that way, we'll have an interface directly with spotify using the tangara without using our mobile devices (except for the hotspot).

Hi! That 'cspot' library looks pretty handy, thanks for the link! This is certainly a good long-term feature, although we're not likely to get around to implementing it anytime soon. We want to make sure all the offline use cases are working really well before we think about streaming audio over a network. It also doesn't help that most of us on the team don't really use or enjoy Spotify as a platform for music.
