What is the touch wheel cover? - vurpo - 2025-01-04 As someone with just a little experience with electronics and PCB design, I was looking through the KiCad files to try and learn more about this whole thing. I'm curious about how the touch wheel cover interacts with the faceplate underneath it, and why it's specifically manufactured as a PCB despite not having any circuitry in it? Interesting to learn, and for the future I'm both interested in building my own Tangara and in designing more of my own electronics for fun. RE: What is the touch wheel cover? - jacqueline - 2025-01-04 Hi! It's just a piece of fibreglass! Any insulating material would work -- even a thin 3d printed piece of PLA can be okay depending on your finger. Ideally we would use glass pieces, but in the end it was easier to just use thin copperless PCBs (i.e. fibreglass) wthl silkscreened markings. Maybe one day we will work out a good supplier for glass covers and switch to them, but it's pretty far down on our todo lists. |
