Would it be possible to add the Automatic Subscriptions plugin to the forum?  (see: mods.mybb, github)

I like to see as much as I can in email, so at the moment I manually subscribe to all threads, but this would make it easier

Hmm. I could do this. My reluctance is that I don't want to give SendGrid any money, and this might be a lot of emails. I'll take a look at what my limits actually are this weekend and if they seem high I'll add this.

Oh, eek. I certainly wouldn't want it to make you approach any thresholds. Please let me know if I'm doing too many emails!

I'm curious whether this traffic has been anywhere near the limits - I know it might increase as people get their Tangaras. I'd still love to auto-subscribe, because I've been subscribing to each thread individually and worrying about what I miss!

Our most recent peak was ~20 emails in one day, out of our limit of 100. So I guess it's probably safe enough. I'm touching the forums lately anyway so I will take a look at installing it for you.
