I'm really confused why people prefer using chatroom style communication for stuff like this? This forum is nice because topics are generally organized into their own thread. So, when I've tried searching for what other people have done to solve a problem, I've found it much easier to find help and information in forums as opposed to chatrooms.
Chatrooms are nice for social things, but when discussing a specific topic I don't think it's productive to have people randomly jumping in/out of the conversation with other topics. I also understand that it might be easier to get people to see the thing you're posting in a chat, but it can also have the opposite effect and prevent people from engaging with the niche thing you're trying to get help with.
