Thanks for taking the time to reply. I managed to resolve the issue.
The forced-reboot didn't make any difference, and neither did deleting the .tangara-db folder. I wondered if the SD card itself was the problem, so I ended up reformatting the entire thing. I noticed that the SD card was exfat, so I reformatted it as fat32 in case that made a difference. (I doubt I'll ever run into problems with fat32's filesize limit of 4GB!)
I don't know if the exfat type was the problem in itself, or if the card was just mildly corrupted somehow. Either way, my Tangara is working now!
