Once that's merged (I'm waiting for jacqueline to review it) you will be able to drop a file on your SD card and it'll just work with no other changes. All configuration happens in that file, and it's auto-reloaded at boot and when you insert the SD card.
If you want to use it before then, you'll need to build from that branch, which is exactly the same as the mainline firmware except you start by cloning the lua-input branch instead of the upstream firmware.

Also, an update! I have finished assembly and testing, and now I'm putting things in boxes. They should go out either Saturday or Monday.
I'm also pleased to announce that I will be including one spare faceplate screw in each kit. Just in case.
