Carrying case recommendations for Tangara?
#1
Hi!  I've been loving my Tangara so far, but putting it in my bag makes me nervous since I often have metal things jangling around that could easily scratch the case or especially the screen. (I know there's a screen protector in front of the actual LCD, but I'd like to avoid having to replace that if I can!) Has anyone found any nice pouch-style cases that fit the Tangara well?

The most specific recommendation I've seen was on Mastodon, where they recommended the Pelican i1010, sadly no longer manufactured.  The modern equivalent would be the Pelican 1010, with the Pelican 1012 pick-and-pluck foam to make a tight fit inside.  (There's a set of both available.)

I'm not sure you'd call either of them pouch-style, but certainly protective.  I'm definitely interested in hearing experiences with any types of cases!

Oh that's really cool haha, the external headphone jack is a nice touch. But yeah, I think I'm looking for more of a soft pouch. The bags I use are pretty small so really just need something to protect the surfaces without adding too much bulk.

I'll report back here if I find anything Smile

Back in t'day there was the socks for iPods (https://apple.fandom.com/wiki/IPod_Socks) and I guess there must be some still made for generic electronic device™️ but finding one the right size might prove difficult. I guess a literal sock would work 😄

Based on the images of the original Pelican case for the iPod, the design really looks like it was made for a utilitarian nuclear football (if it didn't have to be designed to fit into the surroundings of an executive boardroom).

This is the Pelican page for the Micro 1010, and the 1012 foam insert is sold separately as an accessory.

Based on this video review, the non-transparent versions of this case lack additional foam on the top lid:

(Also as of the time of writing this, the solid black variant is not in stock, as well as the optional foam.)

Unfortunately, the Mastodon post referenced hasn't existed for a few weeks.  I might get one soon and show on camera that Tangara fits "good enough" in the Pelican i1010 Micro in a PeerTube video.
