I submitted "tangara-companion" onto the MPR for Ubuntu 24.04 or newer (and also I suppose this applies to Debian Sid/Unstable, and maybe even Debian Testing; but I have neither installed to verify this conjecture). (Sorry Pop!_OS 22.04 users, but those Ubuntu 22.04-base packages are too old to build Tangara Companion, including Meson.)
Inspired by work from fellow forum user emily to submit Tangara Companion to the AUR for Arch Linux, I worked on adapting the PKGBUILD (mostly make dependencies) to be compatible with APT. Also, I'll acknowledge fellow forum user ayumi for creating the ebuild for Gentoo.
Despite not being sure how popular MPR usage is among Ubuntu/Debian users, I would be open to feedback either as a comment on the MPR package page or as an issue on GitHub.
Although I haven't received my Tangara yet, I wanted to be ready when it arrives with the firmware updater. Once my Tangara device arrives, I can be 100% certain that the MPR package works, but for now at least the application builds successfully.
