personally I don't have a recommendation other than to stay far away from getting a 1.5tb SanDisk Ultra microSD

I'm currently using a SanDisk Ultra 80MB/s SDHC1 32GB that I pulled out of an old digital camera. Seems to be working fine so far.

I've had no issues with SanDisk microSD. I bought a SanDisk 128GB Extreme 190MB/s from Amazon and it has been working fine so far with the included adapter.

Now I'm using a 128GB SanDisk Extreme PRO (full size) and it's been working fine.

Ive been having trouble with a samsung 256GB evo select microsd card. database refusing to index everything. gonna get a sandisk come payday.

I've had success with using Micro Center branded microSD cards in 128GB and 512GB capacities (though the actual usable capacities are much lower than the marketed nominal capacities), which I had figuratively lying around/microSD cards that I could repurpose.

• My microSD cards have the following attributes: Class 10, U3, V30, A1.  (Reference.)

• However, this is not being sold anymore.However, the currently available versions (such as this 512GB microSD card) have these attributes: Class 10, U3, V30, A2.  This is the version you should purchase, if you are buying new.

Due to comments from others, I'm not exactly jumping up and down with excitement to purchase a 1TB microSD card to test with Tangara.  (IIRC, flash devices sold under the Micro Center brand are "allegedly" "supposedly" rebranded lower quality units from Micron - but please correct me if I'm wrong.)  It will happen eventually, but I'm in no rush.

I transferred my music, and have observed that my current music collection is only slightly more than 11GB.

Tangent: I know it's an apples-to-orange comparison; but I wanted to demonstrate to myself that the incremental price markup for an internal storage increase in a current smartphones (e.g., any iPhone 16 series or Google Pixel 9 series device) - say even going from 256GB to 512GB, for example -is basically a ripoff compared to a similar 256GB to 512GB (micro)SD card upgrade for Tangara.

Well, this is the one I have in my Tangara and it seems to be working "fine"

At least I'm assuming its fine, I've been blaming the few crashes I had on trying to multitask with it while its checking the database on 200GB of music and podcasts I dumped into it right away.

Uh-oh. I think I spoke too soon...

I had been using a SanDisk Ultra 80MB/s SDHC1 32GB card, but last night I started getting a toooonnn of skipping.

My Tangara was fully charged and I was listening on wired headphones.

For some reason, this 1 specific FLAC song had a REALLY hard time playing. Pausing the song for a second and then resuming it helped it play for a few seconds uninterrupted, but very soon after heavy skipping started happening again.

I still have automatic database scans off.

I ended up buying a Samsung 128GB Pro Plus (for professionals) SDXC1 180MB/s reads and 130MB/s writes card. After copying stuff over to this card, the skipping is gone...

Not sure why that 1 specific FLAC file caused the Tangara to choke up on the old card...

Also, I believe I was using about 90% of the 32GB card's capacity. With the new card, my usage is down to about 50% of 128GB. Not sure if that matters.

I use a Kingston SDIT/32 and it has worked well so far. I will probably upgrade to the 64 GB version of this card if I run of of space on my current one.

thank you for posting this...I grabbed that Samsung 128GB Pro Plus (for professionals) you mentioned and its working so far...only have 30.6gbs put onto it at the moment, so fingers crossed if it will accept larger amounts in the future. still, this is so far working good from the get-go, which is more than I can say for the SanDisks i've used.

I have switched to a SABRENT Rocket V60 512GB SD, which seems to have indexed my whole library correctly (though the SD card cover did bend the SD card a very scary amount). Time will tell if it plays things nicely!

Is the Sabrent still playing nice for you? I need to pick up a card for mine in the 256GB - 512GB range and it seems to have been a very mixed bag for folks
