Hi all!
We have released a new firmware version: https://codeberg.org/cool-tech-zone/tang...tag/v1.1.1
Most notably, we expect much improved SD card compatibility (not over USB mass storage yet). If you've had an SD card that previously didn't work with Tangara, could you please give this release a go and let us know if there's any improvement? Thanks in advance!
Keep on grooving,
Jacqueline

I just tried it with my card, but no luck.

I can't get it to work with either of the SD cards I have around.
- Kingston CANVAS Go! Plus (1TB): Works sometimes immediately after formatting, but soon begins to boot to garbled video. USB Storage mode is pretty buggy with this one when it does work.
- Lexar 256GB Micro SD Card, microSDXC UHS-II: Just doesn't recognise it at all.

- When you say it boots to garbled video, do you mean the Tangara's display begins acting strangely?
- That's annoying. We've had a similar card not get recognised at all, and the changes in 1.1.1 fixed the issue. Can you confirm that you've formatted the card as FAT32 or exFAT and that you're running the latest firmware on the device?

Yes to both. FAT32 using mkfs.fat. The display turns to a weird mix of vertical bars static/colours and mostly black, though sometimes white background. The clickwheel sometimes changes things on the garbled display, but sometimes doesn't.
EDIT, also yes to the firmware question, running 1.1.2
Hi,
I have tried with a microusb SanDisk Ultra 32GB and, in dmesg, I only get
Code: [253621.629955] usb 1-1: new full-speed USB device number 41 using xhci_hcd

[253622.846467] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI removable disk
and I get a message “SD Card is not inserted or could not be opened”.
Is there a way to get more debug information on what is wrong?
Thanks

That's very odd. Is it only when that particular SD card is inserted?
Could you try formatting the SD cards as exFAT and see if that makes a difference?

This is referring to USB mass storage, right? The compatibility improvements mentioned are for reading/writing to the SD card from within the firmware, not over mass storage. USB mass storage support is still quite flaky at the moment. That said, you could try monitoring the serial output and see if there's any debug or error messages that might shed some more light on the issue.
