Hey, I just got my Tangara today! Love the device so far, but I noticed a few issues.
- The little cover for the SD card gets stuck in the case. I now have to loosen the screws on the front of the device to get the SD card out. I feel like if it was just a little bit smaller, there would be no issue
- The next button doesn't seem to work, which is quite annoying as I now have to go back to the list each time. It also doesn't go to the next song after one finishes. Could this be due to how I structured my files? I have my files structured as "Artist > Albums > Tracks". Firmware 1.1.2.

I had this issue as well ( thread here) and it was suggested to turn the SD card cover upside down. Just pull it off of your SD card and flip it the other way and put it back onto the card. That did help with the issue for me.

Are you playing music using the file browser? That doesn't currently support playing more than a single track ( issue here) so you'd have to use a database index for now. (For example, "Albums by Artist" on the home screen, once the database is finished indexing.)

I'll try that. It worked, thanks!

Ah okay, I see. Indeed when I play an album I can skip to the next song. But even within one of these database indexes, if I select a single track then I cannot go to the next one.

That's expected behaviour. Selecting an individual track just adds that track and that track only to the queue. To add an album or database index (ie, all tracks, tracks with a particular genre) to the queue you'd use the "play/shuffle" all buttons, or the "enqueue" button to add tracks to the existing queue.
It sounds like a "play from here" feature is maybe what you're after? I've created an issue on our repo ( https://codeberg.org/cool-tech-zone/tang...issues/205) for adding this feature as well as adding a way to enqueue individual tracks.

Thanks for the reply!
I'm used to Spotify. When I play an individual track, the player is aware of the "surrounding" tracks, depending on where I play it from. If I play it from a playlist, I can go to the previous or next track in that playlist. If I play from an album, it knows about the tracks on that album. And so on.
The "Play from here" feature sounds like it would solve that

This is also how I think of playing music. If there is a screen open with a list of music, like an album, or playlist, then that brings with it a mental model with certain expectations. If I as the user select one of the songs in that list, I expect that to be the context in which it plays.
I would like to advocate for the play from here feature to be the default behavior when selecting music from a list view such as a playlist or a album.
Think of how other media work in this context. If I use a MP3 player program on my computer and pick track four of an album, it will keep playing the rest of the album from there. If I insert a cd into a cd player, and pick track two, it will continue playing to track three, and so forth.
Can anyone describe to me a situation where you would pick a track in the midst of an album and expect only that track to play?
I think there may be a higher-level divide between people who generally listen to individual tracks (or compilations) and people who generally listen to albums. I'm on the album side, as are some of the people here, but I think the developers are generally on the tracks side. I wonder if it would make sense to have a high-level setting that asks something like "Do you generally want to play tracks or albums?" and adjust behavior like this from it. I've already run into several places while working on the firmware where this would apply; for me, another key place is which index is used when pressing "go to artist" from track info. I would want to see the results from Albums By Artist there, so I can pick a new album, but today it uses All Artists, which presents a list of tracks and no way to pick an album. ( issue)
